Updating transmitted documents from submissions

If you send a document in a transmittal and later receive a revision back in a submittal and want to update the document that you sent, you can easily replace the document’s content.

Before you begin

The submittal that contains the submission that you want to update from must first be linked to a transmittal that contains a transmission of the document that you want to update. For more information on linking submittals to transmittals, see in Linking submittals to transmittals. The submission that you want to update from must also be linked to a transmission of the document that you want to update as described in Linking submissions to transmissions.

To update a transmitted document from a submission:

1. Select the document that you sent in a transmittal.
2. If the document is not already in a workflow routed to you, initiate a workflow so that you can change the document content.
3. Click the Submissions tab. The Submissions property page appears.
4. Select the submission from which you want to update the selected document.
5. Click the Replace button in the toolbar. A confirmation dialog box appears.
6. Click Yes. The content of the selected document is replaced by the content of the selected submission.
